Re: Va. High vs Gate City JV Baseball coming soon
Dylan Sullins pitched, he is a freshman and my son(Hunter McCall 8th grtader that pitched the last inning) are the only two pitchers that we have used this year. Sullins is 2-1 and Hunter is 2-0. The team started all freshman except for my son at 3rd base. I guess you would say that Sullins is the ace because with one more year of experience. Sullins has been clocked at 83 and Hunter has been at 81. Sullins was a little wilder than usual last night.

Thanks. yes he played short. After beating Sullivan Central last night they are 5-1. When you look forward in the coming years the games will really be competitive. when you add Dusty Clark and Luke Kirk to the team that was out there Wed night they will be very good.

I think the Jr. League team played in Bristol yesterday. The four eight graders along with 13 year olds form the team. I think Arnold pitched the first game and had 8 K's. Several pitchers in the second. GC won both..big...GC had 20+ in both games. Maybe someone who watched can give more details. I'm going by what some that were there told me.

Re: Va. High vs Gate City JV Baseball coming soon
Yes Gate city played this past weekend in Bristol and lit both teams up. Not to take anything away from them but they played to very week teams(Saltville and Bristol Tenn western). Gate City interleagues with our three teams from Bristol and each our our teams will play them 5 times. So as you can see they will be in Bristol alot over the next few weeks. Gate City plays tonight against One of our teams(Lee Bank) at 7:30pm and it should be a good game. They also play Thursday night against my team at 7:30 and that will also be a good game. All of our league games should be very competitive because we have split up our better players that play JV and made our teams close to each other. Like I have said before our kids from Bristol have played against the kids from Gate City for a long time. I enjoyed talking to some of the Dads from Gate City on Sat. They needed something to do because their games were very boring. So come on over through the gap and watch some kids play some pretty good baseball. Gate City Jr. League won their game last night over one of our teams, Lee Bank 9-3. Gate City only used their 7th graders and played very well. The pitcher they used was a small kid but looked good.

The eighth graders played a double header against Powell Valley last night. They won both. I think the score of the first one was 14-2 and the only thing I heard about the second was they won and Arnold had something like 11 K's in 4 or 5 innings or work. I think the Jr. League team will be pretty good when all of them are together. Maybe one of these days I'll get to see them play.

I think Gate City JV plays a double header @ J.I. Burton today. Someone give us a report.
